At Corolla Swim Skills, we believe swimming is more than a skill — it is confidence, safety, freedom, and joy. Based in beautiful Corolla, North Carolina, we provide swim instruction for both children and adults in a supportive coastal setting where students can build comfort in the water and develop lifelong skills.

Our approach blends water safety, personalized instruction, and a love for the coastal lifestyle that makes the Outer Banks so special. Whether your goal is helping a young child become water confident, strengthening foundational swim skills, or learning as an adult for the very first time, we are here to guide you every step of the way.

Meet Elaine

Elaine’s love of the water began early when she started swimming competitively at the age of eight. She always dreamed of living near the ocean and made that dream a reality by moving from the Midwest to the Outer Banks full-time in 2022.

Today, Elaine continues to compete in triathlons, open water races, and swim meets nationwide, bringing both passion and real-world experience to her instruction. Her background includes work as a lifeguard, swim coach, swim instructor, and aqua aerobics instructor, giving her a well-rounded understanding of swimmers at every age and stage.

Lauren’s love for the ocean brought her to the Outer Banks in 2008 after graduating from James Madison University. She served as an Ocean Lifeguard for both Delaware State Parks Beach Patrol and Kill Devil Hills Ocean Rescue, spending countless hours in and around the water.

Through those experiences, Lauren developed a deep passion for water safety, swimming, and helping others feel confident in the water. Her calm, knowledgeable approach helps students feel encouraged, safe, and supported as they grow their skills.
